Research Assistant

  • Full-time (0.25 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 6 months.
  • Base salary range: $74,450 – $79,085 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

A cancer genomics research laboratory is working on developing novel biomarkers and approaches for cancer diagnosis and prevention.

About the opportunity

  • You will, be required to assist with molecular and next-generation sequencing processing of samples.
  • You will also provide support and help liaise with clinical staff for patient recruitment, sample collection and initial stages of sample processing.
  • Prepare patient samples (blood and saliva) for genomic sequencing.

About you

  • Year 12 or equivalent competency.
  • Relevant research experience in conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research in human disease.
  • Experience with a range of molecular techniques including extraction of, and analysis of nucleic acids.
  • Knowledge of epigenetic regulation of histone modification.
  • Strong lab experience in ChIP-Seq and/or CUT&TAG.
